Hi! I'm Joanne - Your Wanderess Host®
I was in the trenches for the longest time, having personally experienced loss, divorce (that would be plural!), protracted illness of spouse, recovery of son from an illness, and other hurdles, like trauma from a childhood event. All of this kept me from giving myself permission to change careers, change cities, change relationships and see our world! I longed to travel but felt trapped and couldn't get out of my own grief.
My turning point came and I devised a framework with TRAVEL AS MY HEALING BEACON, and once I did … oh boy, I finally started taking the glorious trips, without packing the heavy burdens in my suitcase! The travel was the trigger and the pretext for inviting lasting and glorious change into my life. But delving into the Pre-Trip Journey is really the way I learned to understand, know and forgive myself, then to effectuate change in my life. I'd like to share my jewel box of learnings with you....support you in your inner journey, exploration, and deepening spirituality.
As a Luxury Travel Advisor travel was a huge component of my job BUT the job didn't create the travel.....I did. I was an attorney counseling people, coaching and guiding them to take the appropriate steps for their complicated life situations but knew a career change was in order. I wrote about what led to the shift (hint - travel was the lure!) and I provide guidance for packing up your troubles and leaving them on the tarmac in my book “The Red Bandanna Travel Book: The Medicine of Traveling”.
In my luxury travel business I saw that many people had erected HUGE barriers to welcoming change into their lives, whether to take a trip, change careers, or make a move. I saw the opportunity to share my framework and started coaching them. The very framework I had designed and implemented to transform my own life. End result? They started busting out of their ruts due to the inner changes they made. And they did this without their drama, trauma and sadness in tow. I love mentoring people using the empowering steps I designed and I want to help many more people live their desired dreams, whether it be a move across town, the country or the world....A Fresh Start! Because sometimes we just need a Fresh Start. I spun all of my experience into my signature program: EXPAND YOUR BORDERS!
